Tugas SoftSkills 2: Indirect Speech

1.     Indirect: Prof Tim Frayling of the University of Exeter Medical School, who oversaw the study said that people born to tall parents are more likely to be tall themselves is a common knowledge. But he was surprised how complex the picture was. They had identified nearly 700 genetic variants that were involved in determining height then. And that went a long way tp fulfilling scientific curiosity that could have had real impact in the treatment of disease that can have been influenced by height, such as osteoporosis or cancer.

2.     Indirect: Proff Joel Hirchhorn of Boston Children’s Hospital, who was also involved in the study said that many genes they have identified were likely to be important regulators of skeletal growth, but were not known to be involved until then. Some may also have been responsible for unexplained syndromes of abnormal growth in children.
