Museum Wayang

Last week I came to Museum Wayang in Jakarta. There are a lot of wayang kulit from Indonesia and puppets from Dutch.  I met Mr. Didi who is a tour guide in Museum Wayang. He told a history about this Museum and talked about wayang kulit in Indonesia, he really knows about wayang kulit. He once told me, that wayang kulit should be protected and so next generation can still know about the historical of wayang kulit. Mr. Didi explained about the museum, he said that this Museum was a church because of the earthquake made the church collapse, so this building is becoming a Museum. We can see pieces of the church here, and there also has a prasasti. But when I came, the prasasti was in a reconstruction. Near the prasasti, there are some Dutch-written in the walls, I don’t know what is the meaning of it but it shows that the Museum was also remaining from the Dutch.

I saw a few of tourist come to see the museum, they are all look so interesting with the stuffs at Museum. There’s also a tour guide with them to explain about the museum.

I think this Museum Wayang is a place that should be protected, because Mr. Didi told me it is the only Museum Wayang in Indonesia. This is a place where you can enjoy your holiday and you also get an experience.
